Featuring professional light displays accentuating the natural beauty of Wellfield, the ½-mile Promenade Pathway is aglow with color and texture, framing our Garden spaces as you’ve never seen them before! Experience this new tradition with family and friends as you sip on complimentary hot chocolate while enjoying the sounds of live music performed by local artists around the Promenade. Have questions about the event? We’ve got answers!
Do we need to be there right at 5:30?
No! Your tickets are good for any time between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m.
It’s 4:30 p.m. and I want to buy discounted tickets for tonight – why doesn’t it show up on the website?
Discounted advance ticket sales end at 3 p.m. on the night of the event. Full price tickets are available at the gate that evening, beginning when our Visitors Cottage re-opens at 5:30 p.m. for the event.
If I buy tickets and cannot attend on that night, what do I do?
Your tickets are able to be rescheduled to another night; simply call us at 574-266-2006, or email firstname.lastname@example.org with your preferred date, and we will change them for you. No hassles!
I forgot my printed ticket at home – do I need to turn around and get it?
No need – when you arrive, go to the pre-paid line and give us your name. We will have you on the list!
Where should we park?
Our main parking lot fills up quite quickly, and most of the spaces are handicap only. While you can use our lot for drop-off and pick-up as needed, we recommend parking at Dometic’s lot on the NE corner of Simonton and Main; it’s a short walk to the Gardens from there. Please be careful crossing the street!
How long does it take to see the lights?
Our main path is 1/2 mile long, and our gardens wind in and out of that path. Some people have seen the lights in 20 minutes, some people have stayed for 2 hours. It’s up to you, your schedule and how much time you want to spend in our Winter Wonderland!
Will the show go on rain or (star)shine?
The short answer is yes, but if the weather is frightful and conditions are unsafe, we reserve the right to close. Please check our Facebook or Twitter page or call us at 574-266-2006 to check before you head out in a rain or snowstorm! And if we do close one night, you’re able to reschedule your tickets for any other night (see above).
Can I take a golf cart tour of the holiday lights?
We cannot provide golf cart tours of the holiday lights. While there will be a golf cart onsite for emergencies, we cannot have a cart on the route for safety reasons (darkness, families with small children, narrow pathways, and golf carts don’t mix). Two loaner wheelchairs are available in the Visitors Cottage and are available on a first-come, first served basis. Other personal power-driven mobility devices (personal electric “scooters”) are permitted as normally allowed.
Are dogs or other pets allowed at Winter Wonderland Holiday Lights?
No. Due to congestion, darkness, and leash trip hazards, pets are not permitted at holiday lights or other special/ticketed events.
Will the Children’s Garden be open during Holiday Lights? Are there restroom facilities in the Gardens?
Unfortunately, our Children’s Garden will be closed during our Winter Wonderland Holiday Lights shows. As our Garden Restroom building is seasonal, that building will be closed as well.
I’m a member of another botanic garden and use that membership to visit Wellfield. Will my AHS reciprocal privileges allow me admission to your Holiday Lights?
As Winter Wonderland Holiday Lights is a special, ticketed event, AHS reciprocal does not apply. You may still save a couple bucks by purchasing Public Adult and Child tickets in advance.
