2023 at Wellfield Botanic Gardens
celebrates a Year of New Horizons!
In 2023, each of our seasons celebrated “new horizons” in its own way, whether it is through new projects happening in the Gardens, new classes or events we’re offering, or new horizons you see as you visit the Gardens.

Holiday Activities at Wellfield
Christmas Centerpiece Class
Get creative and make your own unique centerpiece at Wellfield’s Holiday craft class! Grab some friends and make an afternoon out of it! Need a gift for that special person who has everything? This is a great opportunity to make a one-of-a-kind gift.
Taught by Jaime Garton from Matzke Florist, we’ll use cuttings from Wellfield’s own gardens to create a unique keepsake that will have your table looking special all season long.
Class registration includes all items needed to create your centerpiece, plus one adult ticket to Winter Wonderland Holiday Lights (a $15 value).
Have some special decorations you never use? You’re welcome to bring them and use them to personalize your creation; we’ll have plenty on hand, though. Because the wreaths and boughs are sticky and prickly, we recommend you bring your own gardening gloves to protect your hands.
This class is a great chance to get some friends together for a fun afternoon of crafting. Hot cocoa, wine and snacks will be served. Class will be held in a heated tent, rain or shine. In the event of severe weather, we reserve the right to reschedule. Come for the class, stay for the lights!
Registration is required; space is limited! Cost is $75 for the public, $60 for Wellfield members.
Sunday, December 10, 4:00-5:30 p.m

Wellfield is thrilled to announce the commencement of the public phase of an ambitious capital campaign supporting the Events and Visitors Center Expansion Project.
Created nearly 20 years ago, the Master Plan for Wellfield Botanic Gardens foresaw the attraction Wellfield has now become, with over 75,000 visitors per year and true regional impact. The Project realizes four key master plan features—a new 12,000 sq.ft. Visitors Center with event capacity, an Open Air Pavilion, relocation and repurposing of the existing Visitors Cottage, and increased parking capacity.
We’re inviting you to visit the Gardens and learn more about our expansion! During these hours, you’ll have a chance to speak with Wellfield’s Executive Director regarding the project. We hope you’ll stop by and see how you can help us grow!
