Monsters are invading Wellfield Botanic Gardens!
Bring the whole family out for some, fun, and family-friendly events featuring a Contactless Candy Quest around the Promenade! All are welcome to come dressed in costume (or not). This event is intended for all ages and is not intended to scare, but to amaze, educate, and entertain. In addition to Wellfield’s Fabulous Fall displays, we have fun activities from fishes to witches, and more!
Join us at 4:30 and 6:00 p.m. for live animal shows with Indiana Wild! Indiana Wild is a nonprofit organization which provides culturally based live animal programs for schools, childcare facilities, camps and churches. Live animal shows at Wellfield will begin at 4:30 and 6:00 p.m. and last approximately 45 minutes.
City of Elkhart Aquatic Biologist Daragh Deegan will be on our Event Plaza, sharing ‘hands on’ fisheries biology with guests! The Aquatics Program is a joint effort between the Cities of Elkhart and South Bend to evaluate the health of the St. Joseph and Elkhart Rivers and their tributaries. The program’s main focus is to evaluate the fish communities of local rivers and streams. For more about the Aquatics Program, click here.
Halloween Stories in the Garden! We’ll be having open storytime with Wanda Witch in the Children’s Garden Amphitheater from 4:30-6:30 p.m.. Wanda will be reading “One Wish for Winifred Witch”, a truly magical tale with a surprising twist written by Michiana Author Cheri Hallwood, and other seasonally-appropriate books. Great fun throughout the evening. Be sure to visit Wanda Witch during your Candy Quest!
Need a bite to eat? Hot Dog Eddy’s will be onsite serving up delicious hot dogs and snacks! Get ’em while they’re hot. And if you haven’t been to Hot Dog Eddy’s, check out their restaurant located on South Main Street in Elkhart.
