City of Elkhart Aquatic Biologist Daragh Deegan will be onsite, sharing ‘hands on’ fisheries biology with guests! The programs main focus is to evaluate the fish communities of local rivers and streams. For more about the Aquatics Program, click here.
Children’s author Cheri L. Hallwood joins us to share her wonderful book, “One Wish for Winifred Witch”, a truly magical tale with a surprising twist. Each year the witches of Haunted Hollow eagerly await the arrival of Halloween. All, that is, except for little Winifred Witch. You see . . . When the sky grows dark and the moon glows bright, Little Winifred Witch is nowhere in sight. Of course, none of the witches in the Hollow know why young Winifred seems to magically disappear when nighttime comes, nor do they know about the “one” secret wish she makes every night. But with a little help from her wise Aunt Broomhilda, Winifred Witch discovers that sometimes it takes more than Magic to make a wish come true.
Cheri dazzles young children with her costumed-portrayal of Aunt Broomhilda from the book, as she acts out scenes for her audience. Cheri will do live performances from the book at 4:30, 5:00, and 6:15, and will be available to sign her books you’ve purchased until 7:30pm in our Visitors Cottage.
Hot Dog Eddy’s will be onsite serving up delicious hot dogs and snacks! Get ’em while they’re hot. And if you haven’t been to Hot Dog Eddy’s, check out their restaurant located on South Main Street in Elkhart.
