Our Big Spring Weekend is Here!

I always think of this weekend in May as the unofficial start to our busy season here at Wellfield. From Friday through Sunday, we’ve got something going on-and I’m not just talking about all the beautiful flowers and trees in bloom! If you can’t find something special and fun for you this weekend at Wellfield…I don’t even know what to tell you. Let’s go through it all, day by day.

Please note: All events will go on, rain or shine! Please dress for the weather!

Friday, May 11 is National Public Gardens Day!
Join us for a celebration of the important role played by America’s public gardens in promoting environmental stewardship, education, plant and water conservation in communities nationwide. Free Admission for all, and as an extra enticement, we’ll be offering the following discounts at our Visitors Cottage from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.:

Saturday, May 12 is Goshen at the Gardens day!
Once again, we will be offering Free Admission all day. In addition, we will be continuing to offer $10 off Groovin’ in the Gardens season tickets, and 10% off all retail in our Visitors Cottage! We’re open 8 a.m. – 7 p.m., and here’s the lineup for the day:

Our Bird Walk starts at 8 a.m. – dress for the weather and bring your binoculars, or just your own two eyes! Mary Kauffman-Kennel does a great job leading these walks!

From 5-7 p.m., enjoy the sounds of the Ben Miller band (tickets not required) while you nosh on yummy food from That Guys ribs and Parmajacos. MMMMmmmm! We will also have a cash bar, if you’re thirsty. We’ll provide some chairs under the tent, but feel free to bring your own if that makes you happy. No alcohol may be brought into the Gardens.

It’s a big night of proms in the area; we’re happy to host families who want to take pictures for their own use. But if you are paying a photographer to take your photos, a photo permit must be purchased at our Visitors Cottage.

And last, but certainly not least, Sunday, May 13th is Mother’s Day!
While our Mother’s Day luncheon sold out super fast (thank you!), we still have plenty going on to help you celebrate Mom. We’re open 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Moms get in free all day. We will also be continuing to offer $10 off Groovin’ in the Gardens season tickets, and 10% off all retail in our Visitors Cottage! What a great time to pick up a gift for Mom or for that favorite teacher in your life.

So, come out any or every day this weekend to see what’s new at Wellfield, and enjoy time with family and friends in Michiana’s most beautiful setting. I know I can’t wait.

See you at the Gardens!
