We are so excited to announce a new health and wellness offering at Wellfield. On Thursdays from 10-11am, starting July 27th and continuing until September 14th, we will be offering “Walk and Awaken”, which will combine the practices of Tai Chi and Walking Meditation. The classes will be taught by Marisha Schmidt, M.A., who is a Mind/Body Educator with 20 years of teaching experience. Class will begin at our new Wind Chimes and proceed through the Gardens.
You do not need to sign up for the whole series – classes are drop-in. Classes are $10 for members and $12 for the public. Ages 13 and up are welcome. You can register for any of the dates by clicking here, by calling us at 574-266-2006, or by registering in person at our Visitor’s Cottage. If you do not want to register for the first class, click “other dates” just below the date shown and choose the date that fits your schedule. If it is your first time doing a Health and Wellness class at Wellfield this year, you will need to complete our Participant Registration and Waiver form, which you can get at the Visitor’s Cottage or by clicking HERE.
Walking Meditation is about arriving in the present moment, a renewable source of energy. This class will focus on informal and formal practices that can be used both as a meditation and in your daily activities. Learn the purpose, points, practices, and why we walk and who we walk for to leave an energetic imprint of peace with each step.
T’ai Chi Ch’uan is sustaining harmony with the Universe. It is based on the observation of nature, understanding the forces of balance and change. Spanning the realm of body, mind and spirit it brings enduring health and a sense of well-being. This is a standing practice for ease of learning.
We’re looking forward to this new offering, and we hope you are too!
See you in the Gardens!
