As I sit down to write this blog the word that comes to mind is excitement. This is an exciting time of year. There is so much happening in the Gardens. Everything is coming to life and the spring flowers are magical in scent and beauty, but the most excitement I see is when students come to the Gardens for a field trip. The excitement of a child is contagious. To hear the students wooo and ahaa over a duck in the pond, a bird in a tree or simply finding an acorn brings a smile to my heart. It reminds me to slow down and enjoy the simple blessings of life. To have the privilege to view the gardens thru the eyes of a child is gift. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to work with the children and especially the volunteers!! I count my blessings to work at Wellfield, not because it is a beautiful place, but because of the volunteers and the staff I have the honor to work with. I am excited to see what the season holds. I am excited to be a part of an organization that inspires others, brings peace to many, and encourages us all to take better care of the world around us. I thank you volunteers for the joy and excitement your hard work brings to the students, myself and to all who visit Wellfield. THANK YOU!!
Sincerely,
Jodie Papandrea, Volunteer Coordinator
