Why would you want to volunteer at Wellfield? I can think of several reasons why. The Gardens are beautiful, you gain a sense of accomplishment, become a part of something important to your community, meet new people, make new friends, learn new skills or build upon the skills you have, share your interest with others, and help the Gardens grow.
There are so many ways to be involved as a volunteer. For example, be a greeter in the Visitors Cottage and enjoy meeting guests from all across the country. Help with school field trips by leading an activity or assisting the leader. Give guided tours and drive the golf cart for guests who need assistance. Help set up with events and weddings. Lend a helping hand in the office. Pull some weeds and plant some flowers. The list goes on. As we grow, so do our needs.
Volunteers are not required to make a big commitment. We ask that you donate the time that you have and want to give. That commitment is different for everyone. Every little bit helps. To learn more about volunteering join us this Wednesday the 29th in the Visitors Cottage at 10 am. You don’t have to register, just show up. If this time doesn’t work well for you and you are interested in volunteering please contact Jodie at 574-266-2006 or email at j.papandrea@wellfieldgardens.org and I would be happy to answer your questions and take you on a tour of the Gardens.
