Winter in the Gardens

Winter is often a time of reflection and preparation for the upcoming seasons. It is a wonderful time to visit Wellfield and walk among the gardens. Visitors are often surprised to find trees wrapped to protect them from our Michiana winters, as they experience the change of scene as snow blankets the gardens and alters the view of your favorite paths. Branches take a prominent place in the scene as they emerge from the snow and show their stark architecture. Grasses and seed crowns blow against the harsh winter backdrop and demonstrate their strength. The gardens are alive with birds and small creatures, if you slow down enough to catch their gaze. Plan a visit this winter at Wellfield. We are open Tuesdays, Saturday and Sunday 12 – 5 pm. We will see you on the promenade.
