Ikebana is the art of Japanese flower arranging. Wellfield hosts Intro to Ikebana, on Saturday, April 23, at 10 a.m. Master Gardener and certified Ikebana instructor Emma Wynn will introduce the class to the history and fundamental approaches of Ikebana. Emma studied at the Ichiyo School of Ikebana during her six years in Japan, under the Iemoto (headmaster) of the school. In that time, she completed six courses including an Instructor I and Instructor II course. She has given multiple presentations and demonstrations since returning to Indiana. Create an elegant plant design using living branches, greenery and blossoms that aims at creating a link between the indoors and the outdoors. Materials will be provided. Bring your own hand pruners. Space is limited to 10 participants and registration is required.
